This is the best release yet in the excellent Congotronics series of albums! The Kasai Allstars are a Kinshasa-based collective of musicians from the impoverished Kasai region of DR Congo, and their music is drawn from festive and ritual music played in the bush since before the arrival of Europeans - but with a modern twist! Electrified likembes (thumb pianos) and guitars combine with traditional tam tams. tandjolo and lokombe to create an extreme form of electrified Congolese trance music! This stuff is really awesome! Very highly recommended!
