Motown Mafia is the story of two families and how they rose from Detroit neighbourhoods to the top of the city's narcotics pyramid, but it is also the story of Detroit itself. Even Donald Goines, the godfather of 'urban literature', paid homage to Eddie Jackson's crew in his books, turning the real life exploits of the 'Fat Man' into shocking fictional form.
