From 1967–69, Ronnie Scott was a member of The Kenny Clarke-Francy Boland Big Band which toured Europe extensively. The band's appearance at Ronnie’s on February 28th, 1969 was recorded and released on two LPs: “Volcano” and “Rue Chaptal” . This is the first volume taken from that memorable night!

Featuring Scott, with fellow tenor players Johnny Griffin and Tony Coe (also on clarinet) - other members of the star line-up included: Benny Bailey, Idrees Sulieman, Dusko Gojkovic, Tony Fisher, Ake Persson, Nat Peck, Eric von Lier, Derek Humble, Sahib Shihab, Ron Mathewson, Kenny Clare - as well, of course, as Kenny Clarke & Francy Boland.
