Filmed in Jamaica with music and interviews with Bunny Lee, Max Romeo, The Abyssinians, Count Ossie's Drummers, Bongo Herman and more - this is a seriously excellent documentary. Looks good, the music is awesome - roots rastafari music in natural settings, the research and integrity of the film fabulous.

Sounds Of The Universe will be screening the premier of Braum Van Splunteren's "Big Fun In The Big Town" documentary this Thursday 17th May at 6.30pm in our basement to celebrate the forthcoming DVD release.
"Big Fun In The Big Town" follows Five Day Weekend's hit release 80 Blocks From Tiffany's, a
1979 documentary about the South Bronx and its gang culture, directed by Gary Weis.
Filmed in New York City in 1986, ‘Big Fun in the Big Town’ chronicles the emerging cultural movement called “hip-hop”, through the lens of an upstart Dutch filmmaker named Bram Van Splunteren. The film features Grandmaster Flash, Mr. Magic, Marley Marl, LL Cool J, Run-DMC and Jam Master Jay, Biz Markie, Roxanne Shante, Russell Simmons,The Last Poets, MC Shan, Schoolly-D, Doug E. Fresh & the Get Fresh Crew and more.
This is NOT to be missed FREE SCREENING.
