Object Music was one of a very few small Manchester based labels which was outshone by labels such as Factory, Rabid and New Hormones. Object Music was founded by Spherical Objects guitarist/vocalist Steve Solemar out of the Manchester Musicians Collective (also home to the first Fall shows), Object music bought out very influential bands in its short tenure such as Solemars' Spherical Objects (Solemar created a label as a vehicule to put out his records), Grow Up, The Passage to name a few and then a host of great songs on this compilation.
