Following the success of the first installment of 'West Indies Funk & 'Disc 'O' Lypso, Trans Air Records of San Juan, Puerto Rico present a killer second volume of rare, vintage funk straight out of the Caribbean. This entry unearths more inspired cuts from artists such as The Troubadours, Steel Image, The Cassanovas, Blue Rhythm Combo and Kenny & The Beach Boys. They may not be household names, but their Caribbean-flavoured covers of songs by James Brown ("The Big Payback"), Sly & The Family Stone ("Sing a Simple Song"), Charles Wright ("Express Yourself") and Young Holt Unlimitied ("Soulful Strut") are instantly memorable versions in their own right and are sure to stay in rotation all summer long.
