For 1985’s KEEP YOU SATISFIED, Nancy reunited with producer Kiyoshi Itoh and arranger Masahiko Satoh for sessions in Japan; the result was a Top 20 Jazz Album that included her take on the George Michael hit of the day, the now-classic ‘Careless Whisper’ and a striking cover of Marvin Gaye’s ‘Just To Keep You Satisfied.’Working with the same producer and arranger, the follow-up album, 1986’s FORBIDDEN LOVER was recorded in Los Angeles; the title track - a soulful duet with singer Carl Anderson - received airplay at R&B stations in the U.S., giving Nancy her first best-selling album (#8 on Billboard’s Jazz charts). Other key cuts include a second duet with Anderson (‘Too Good To Be True’) and a superlative version of Leon Russell’s ‘A Song For You.’
